Downtown Sounds
Good food, good music, beautiful weather and fun is the combination for Downtown Sounds on the City Hall Plaza. Downtown Sounds returns for the summer beginning June 10 and continuing through August. Downtown Sounds is a free program designed to showcase downtown amenities and downtown businesses and will run from 11:30am to 1pm each Wednesday on the downtown plaza next to city hall.
"It's a great time and a great location for people to meet friends, sample our downtown restaurants and enjoy live local music during lunch at City Hall Plaza" said Maureen Fagans, Center City Association Executive Director. "It's also another way for people to experience the amenities that are located in downtown Springfield. Everyone enjoys a nice break at lunch, and we are pleased to provide the opportunity in a beautiful venue each Wednesday"
Downtown restaurants and local businesses, including Ankrom & Co. Photography, Security National Bank, Lee's Famous Recipe, Mobile Dogs Cafe, The Fountain on Main, Station 1, Seasons Bistro and Grille, Mela Urban Bistro, WA-BEE's Shawnee Restaurant and Central Perk Cafe are sponsoring Downtown Sounds each week to keep this event free and fun. Please see below for a list of performers.
"Anyone who needs a break during the work day, and most of us do, can grab a great meal to go from one of our downtown restaurants or bring a brown bag from home and catch a seat on the plaza for some great music," said Fagans.
