Holiday in the City Celebrate the joys of the holiday season this year at Springfield's spectacular Holiday in the City. Holiday in the City is Saturday, November 26th and is located in the heart of downtown Springfield at the Heritage Center, City Hall Plaza and along Fountain Avenue. The free multi-faceted event will delight the whole family! Santa arrives in grand style to visit with children in his wonder filled Santa Land. The Grand Illumination of the downtown holiday lights is capped off with a dazzling fireworks display that will set your holiday spirit soaring. Frisch Marionettes, animatronics displays, street performances, food, crafts and more await you...there is something for everyone at Holiday in the City!
Greater Springfield Moving Forward: Downtown Task Force
The Greater Springfield Moving Forward initiative has moved to the next phase of planning. Task forces have been engaged to develop and implement goals based on the 5 priorities identified by the Springfield community's feedback and survey data. The Priorities: 1) Increase Jobs and job readiness; 2) Revitalize our parks and green spaces; 3) Develop downtown as the community's core; 4) Improve our major corridors and gateways; 5) Raise student achievement. In partnership with the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, CCA Executive Director Maureen Fagans is leading the Downtown Task Force and is always appreciative of your input.
